Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and vocalist since the mid 1990s. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde, and Hair. The role she played as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in a Play. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors, actors, and other performers in stage and on screen throughout the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's next project will be a limited-edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be on March 20, 2023. He stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the show. Ashford's latest role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. In two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in CBS's hit series B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
