Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very popular. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and faced a lot racial taunts and caused her to feel uncomfortable. Her confidence began to grow during the 9th grade, when she entered a school audition. She was praised by the judges for her vocal ability. This not only increased her confidence, but it altered the direction she pursued in her professional career. She attended the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. At the age of 23 she began her career making her debut at the Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she played the part in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway production of Spamalot garnering not only the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater recognition. Known as a singer she also released a single and an extended play. In addition, she is an LGBT activist.
